What Is Pandora's Box?
Pandora's box is an artifact famous in Greek mythology. Pandora was given a beautiful box from Zeus as a wedding gift. However, there was one very important condition, Pandora was never to open the box and look inside. All Pandora could think about was peeking inside, finally one day she could stand it no longer and she lifted the lid of the box. She had hoped to find such delights as gold, jewels and lovely dresses, however there was no such thing in the box. Pandora's excitement turned to horror as from the box buzzed out all the sorrows of the world. Out of the box came disease and poverty. Out came misery, out came death, out came sadness - all shaped like tiny stinging insects. They stung poor Pandora over and over again until Pandora slammed the box shut. Only one thing remained buzzing in the box begging to be left out. Pandora and her husband decided to let whatever it was in the box out deciding it couldn't be any worse than the other things which had escaped. When they lifted the lid Hope fluttered out. Hope remained with Pandora and the rest of humanity forever.

Our Pandora's Boxes
For this project we sent each other 'Pandora's Boxes' . These were decorated boxes full of gifts and goodies. They contained items made by the children, some shop bought treats, sweets etc... Some of the items in the boxes related to legends and others reflected the country or region of the sender. This was a really enjoyable part of our project and all the partner countries really enjoyed both sending and receiving their boxes. Please look at our videos and photos below.
